Position Details

  • Position: Seasonal Full-Time Sales Clerk
  • Type: Seasonal, Full-Time
  • Location: King Salmon, Alaska
  • Season Duration: Approximately 4 months (Mid-May to Mid-September)
  • Compensation: Starting at $15/hour with merit increase up to $18/hour based on performance after 30 days. Guaranteed overtime pay.

Responsibilities

  • Assist customers in-person and/or online with product selection and purchases
  • Help curate and display consignment items, vintage goods, and handmade crafts
  • Maintain a welcoming, organized, and visually appealing shop environment
  • Process transactions accurately using our POS system
  • Restock and manage inventory across all product categories
  • Share knowledge about our products, Alaska wildlife, Native crafts, and local artists
  • Open and/or close the shop as scheduled
  • Keep the shop clean and tidy throughout the day
  • Assist with receiving and logging new consignment items from local and village artists
  • Tag, price, and display new inventory
  • Communicate with local and village artists regarding their consignment items
  • Assist with online order packing and shipping
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Previous retail or sales experience preferred
  • Friendly, outgoing personality with strong customer service skills
  • Passion for Alaska culture, wildlife, Native arts, and the outdoors
  • Appreciation for handmade, one-of-a-kind, and culturally significant items
  • Interest in or experience with consignment or artisan retail is a plus
  • Basic math skills for handling transactions accurately
  • Comfortable with basic computer and POS systems
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs
  • Ability to work weekends and holidays during the season
  • Reliable, punctual, and a team player

Compensation & Benefits
